Over the years young people have built everything from a dormouse box, to a 15’ viking style boat to a two bedroom house! We always work with experts who are not only able to pass on skills but also a passion about what they do.

The boat was our first practical project and working with Roly Jones who was the shipwright at the Kathleen and May, young people from Bideford College built the vessel from scratch over a six month period. It is still with us and on display having spent a few years in the water helping young people train.

Through the generosity of Michael and Sally Cannon we were given the use of a very large barn on the outskirts of Abbotsham near Bideford that has become our second centre and officially opened in October 2008. We decided it needed offices, toilets, a conference room, teaching area and kitchen and so enlisted 3 young people to work with a master craftsman, Paul Tuson, to construct an internal timber frame building that was finished by tradesman and is a testimony to what young people can achieve with support and training.
