New Year, New You?

Wings South West are pleased to announce that we are looking for people to fill some current vacancies.

Wings is a charity that was formed almost 20 years ago and works with disadvantaged children, young people and adults by providing encouragement through practical opportunities that aim to increase confidence, self-esteem and resilience.

The people who work with us are fundamental in building positive relationships with participants that engender trust and ‘belonging-to'.

Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of Wings and we are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

  • Volunteer learning support in Maths and English helping disadvantaged young people engage in education.  A Teaching Assistant qualification or classroom experience would be useful, but not essential.

  • Volunteer activities support.  Are you skilled, for example, in woodwork, gardening, craft, digital media, and looking to share your skills with others?

  • We are also looking for regular volunteers at our exciting additional needs midweek group, Unity, which attracts up to 40 adults weekly

If you feel that volunteering could be something that you would like to consider then in the first instance please contact Mark on mark@wingscharity.com or 01237 472 000

Youth Worker – Part Time (competitive salary)

Youth clubs provide a safe space for young people to meet up with friends, make new ones and generally have fun in a community of their own. This position would involve the successful applicant planning, developing, promoting and running our 3 youth clubs (regular, special needs and faith-based). They would need to have a heart for young people, a flexible approach to work and be a self-starter who is willing to go into schools to promote the clubs, be part of the Wings Team staff meetings and also assist in other areas of Wings when needed, including our North Devon Coastal Academy.  Due to the nature of our faith-based group, the successful applicant would need to demonstrate an ability to model and teach about the Christian faith.

If you feel that this role could be of interest then in the first instance please forward a CV and covering letter to pbowser@btinternet.com

All successful applicants for the various roles will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
